Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate Quality Production Specialist in Fairfax, VA.

The quality inspector role is dedicated is support of Quality Management System requirements, nonconformance review and disposition, and verifying product conformance to design requirements. This position will validate work instructions, tooling requirements, certifications, process standards, policies, and procedures.

The Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) is responsible for teaching and certifying 4S business unit individuals on the IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and IPC J-STD, ensuring they understand and can apply the acceptance criteria for electronic assemblies, including soldering, wiring, and quality standards.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with review and validation of product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Supports analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes.
  • Participates in the investigation to determine root cause of nonconformance of plans.
  • Ability to apply basic knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.
  • Gathers data and provides recommendations/solutions to nonconformance of plans, products or processes.
  • Assists with the development, modification and documentation of actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action.
  • Assists in obtaining corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes and submits for review.
  • Supports concurrence and obtains commitments to support program resolution.
  • Participates and observes the validation associated with corrective action to assure nonconformance has been eliminated.
  • Verifies internal replication systems adhere to Company and regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Creates airplane specific airborne software packages.
  • Conducts audits to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements.
  • Assists in the creation of reports and coordinates with the parties responsible for internal distribution.
  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with performing product inspection
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • 3+ years of experience performing data analysis
  • 3+ experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCCA) and Corrective Action
  • 3+ years of experience with quality systems (e.g., Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Associate’s Degree or higher
  • Knowledge of IPC industry standards for design, manufacture, and assembly of electronic products.

Travel:

This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary Pay Range: USD $69,700 - $94,300
