Salary: $28-30 per hour

CSI Group, LLP is eagerly looking to expand it's Construction Department, that oversees our many branch offices. We are looking for energetic, problem solvers to join our growing team. CSI Group is an Accounting Firm with several locations in NJ and NY.

SUMMARY: The Carpenter is responsible for maintaining and all phases of construction including wood framing, drywall installation, drywall finishing, tile installation, painting and flooring installation. Electrical/IT background is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work
• Installing (electrical and mounting) large electronics such as tvs, cameras, computers, etc.
• Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
• Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customers budget and style
• Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and other construction professionals
• Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendations

Requirements:

• An associate degree or an apprenticeship in carpentry is preferred
• Electrical and/or IT background is preferred
• Creativity and design skills
• Must have own tools
• Experience of using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws and nail guns
• Joinery or cabinet-making skills
• Knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to
• Must have a clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Travel is required
• Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
• Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
