Architectural Drafter

Gap, PA

Do you thrive on blending creativity with precision, using your drafting skills to design Tiny Home Cabins, and want the excitement of shaping a brand-new role from the ground up?

Why You'll Love Working with Us

  • Faith-Based Culture: Join a Christian, blue-collar company rooted in integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Employee Appreciation: Experience chaplain services, counseling sessions, Bible studies, marriage retreats, Free Food Fridays, and anniversary celebrations.
  • Family Atmosphere: Enjoy a company that treats employees like family, showing care through the little and big things.
  • High Standards: Work with a team that values efficiency and quality while treating people with kindness.
  • Rooted in Tradition: Share in a hunting, fishing, country-boy culture that keeps things genuine and grounded.

Lancaster Log Cabins specializes in building Tiny Home Cabins, also known as Park Model Cabins, here at our facility in Gap, PA. We build beautiful, turn-key cabins on wheels in both a log cabin style and a modern style that are portable and intended for campgrounds and getaway cabins. Rooted in Lancaster County, we remain committed to quality, integrity, and honoring God in all we do.

What You'll Do as an Architectural Drafter:

  • Draft detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for park model cabins — layouts, structures, and components.
  • Develop floor plans, elevations, section views, and detail drawings for new models and customized variations.
  • Translate design concepts and client requirements into complete, build-ready documentation, ensuring a turn-key cabin experience.
  • Review design and customization requests with customers & obtain final approval before submitting for production.
  • Design exterior and interior look and feel, along with FF&E, to meet the desired cabin style
  • Ensure all drawings comply with RVIA/ANSI A119.5 standards, internal specs, and production feasibility.
  • Update drawings in response to customer feedback, production insights, or material updates (e.g., color options, modern or rustic features).
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to optimize material use, long-term durability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Maintain version-controlled drawing libraries and organize technical documentation meticulously.
  • Support prototyping, continuous improvement, and design refinements.
  • Work full-time, onsite, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:30 PM (45 hours per week).

Our Ideal Architectural Drafter:

  • Experienced: 5+ years in architectural drawing and design is ideal. An associate's degree or certificate in Drafting, Architecture, Design, or a related field is ideal but not required. Strong understanding of residential construction and real-life application. Experience designing tiny homes, manufactured housing, sheds, or modular cabins is a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Revit or Chief Architect, familiar with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
  • Detail-oriented: Produces accurate drawings and maintains high-quality documentation with excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong Communicator: Works well in a collaborative setting, with strong teamwork and customer-facing abilities.
  • Craftsman's Eye: Brings a passion for craftsmanship and an appreciation for durable, timeless design.
  • Design Instincts: Contributes to the aesthetic appeal of our cabins (colors, small design elements, etc.)
  • Independent: A motivated self-starter with administrative strengths and the ability to take initiative.

What We Offer Our Architectural Drafter:

  • $70,000-$100,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Health, dental, & vision insurance
  • PTO & Paid holidays
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match
  • Disability & Life Insurance
  • Mid-year & End-of-year bonuses
  • Employee Care Program, including a company chaplain, free counseling, prayer group, Bible study, marriage retreats, and company library
  • Yearly anniversary recognition with special celebrations at 3, 5, and 10 years
  • Free Food Fridays and free drinks in the lunchroom
  • Giving Bonus at Christmas — donate up to $500 to a ministry of your choice
  • A faith-based company that values generosity, teamwork, and continuous improvement
